May Stamp of the Month Blog Hop - Cherish the Moment (D1421)

It is May already and WOW it is time for the Close To My Heart Stamp of the Month blog hop -- and there are a bunch of creative ladies waiting for you to peruse their beautifual creations, get a cup of coffee or tea, sit back and enjoy the hop.

This is a round robin hop, so if you are starting here, keep going til you see me again -- if you have come from Latisha's you are on the right track.  You will hop over to Deb's next - BUT WAIT - check out my little creation, there will be a link at the bottom.

My card club members love the new Workshop on the Go kits and the cute stamps that are exclusive with the kit, however I like to demonstrate how easily it is to use other stamps with the same beautiful papers and ink -  this month my blog hop creation demonstrates the versatility of Close To My Heart products.

Here are cards made with the new Cherry-O Workshop on the Go and the same card design made using May's Stamp of the Month, Cherish the Moment (D1421) - this is an awesome stamp set with 8 framed sentiments ranging from Congratulations to an Invitation.  Mask out the center and use the frame alone.

I love how you can choose from the lists provided on the Cherish the Moment stamp images, so your card can be for just the right occasion.

Hey purchase the Workshop on the Go - and you already can earn the Stamp of the Month for 25% off!!  A great way to get 2 great stamp sets, beautiful Level 2 paper packet, an instruction sheet, and one full package of embellishments (varies with each kit), all at a discount.
Ask your consultant how to get the Workshop on the Go -- don't have a consultant, check out my website or email me at -- better yet, become a consultant today!

Now hop on over to Deb's and see what she has created  - before you go, please, take a moment to let me know what you thought of my little creation.

Spring is in the Air

It is raining today.  I love the rain as I know that soon the flowers will be in full bloom and flowers and color are my favorite of favorites.

Whether it is the yellow of early spring daffodils or the bright white of late summer crepes, I love all the beauty nature has to offer.

And not to leave out my favorite pasttime, scrapbooking, a great project for a rainy day -- a mini album.  I am a nut for mini albums and not too long ago I needed to clean out a few older card kits.  Creating a card kit mini album is so much fun and easy to make.  While the kit I am displaying here is an older card kit, you could use any card kit you have on hand or try one of Close To My Heart's newest card kits -  wouldn't Bits and Pieces card kit make the best masculine themed mini album?

To create the mini album, pick out several cards and envelopes from your kit. I like to use 4 cards and 3 envelopes - this gives me a card as the front and back.  Mark and punch three holes along the fold edge of your card and along the bottom edge of the envelope.  Add adhesive to the right edge and bottom of the card creating a little tag holder out of the card.  Now, both the card and the envelope are ready to hold tags or photos or both.

I like to cover the envelopes, so I cut a few of the extra cards in half and use these to adhere to the envelopes.  I also use the extra cards to create the tags to insert in the top of the cards and the envelope flaps.

Using the stickers that come with the kit and any extra ribbon or embellishments adds that extra bling (and I am the queen of bling).

All you have left
to do is pick that special someone who needs a pick me up on a rainy day!

Would you love to learn how to make this mini album?  Just let me know!

Studio J -- It is almost HERE!!

Studio J is coming to a consultant near you -- APRIL 27th!! I am hosting a New Summer Idea Book/Studio J open house Tuesday, the 27th at My Scrappin' Studio - check out my calendar for more information!!

So what is Studio J, you ask -- it is the easiest to use, closest thing to digi scrapbooking around.
  • No software to purchase, load, and learn --
  • No extra papers, embellishments, etc. to add to your already stretched to the max scrapbook budget
  • No mess to put up every evening
All you need is your computer (desktop or laptop or notebook or whatever you use for the internet), your photos, and a little time.

Pick the photos for your first project - let us say 10 good photos and log in to Studio J --
  1. upload these photos
  2. choose your kit - just like classic scrapbooking, you pick your favorite Level 2 paper packet
  3. choose your pattern (layout)
  4. choose your kit mix (which papers will be placed in which spaces -- just click on one and continue -- you can always change it later)
  5. And finally personalize - drag and drop photos into photo wells - move the photos, resize the photos, and more -- drag and drop embellishments, change embellishment colors, distress edges, add My Stickease stickers, journal, rotate the layout pages or flip them,  all with a click of the mouse
Lastly, add all your projects to your shopping cart, do a final check to make sure your layouts are just right, and all you pay for is the printing.  All prints are 12 x 12 photo quality paper and you can still add stamping and classic embellishments for a hybrid version. YOU ONLY PAY WHEN YOU PRINT!

With this launch, Close To My Heart is offering you a special introductory promotion. You may purchase each two-page layout for just $12.95. Also, when you place a single order for 5–9 layouts, you'll receive a pack of 5 Memory Protectors FREE! For placing an order for 10 or more layouts, you'll receive FREE shipping/handling plus a FREE pack of 5 Memory Protectors for every 5 layouts in the single order.

Your completed and purchased projects remain available for a year so you can share and share and share - Mom or Grandma want a copy, log in and take the layout to your shopping cart and print it again.

Miracle Kit 6x6 Accordion Book Workshop

Thanks to fellow consultant, Vicki Wizniuk, for providing the inspiration for a great tribute to my Dad, whom I miss terribly.

The beautiful cardstock weight bracket piece is what I used to create the front and back covers - a little bamboo cardstock, great resist chipboard and some easy to create embellishments add to the beauty of this little project.

I love to use poems to add that special journaling touch.  I found this great Dad poem googling poems for Father's Day.

A variation of the Miracle Kit brochure layout was so fun for Pages 1 and 2.  Even with a few flowers and ribbon, the completed project still has that great masculine feel.  Pages 3 and 4, and 5 and 6 round out this workshop project.
And I still had enough leftovers to create my own variation of the brochure layout --
This month I will be offering a 6x6 Accordion Book workshop using the National Scrapbook Month special, Miracle Kit, which will be available April 15th.
