Tri- Fold Card and Later Sk8r

It is so much fun to try new things and a Tri-fold card is one of those on my list. My little grand, Eli, is such a go, go, go boy and Later Sk8r is soooooo him. This will be his birthday card in June (never too early to create a birthday card).

 I was inspired by a Pinterest , Later Sk8r My Reflections paper packet and the Fast and Furious stamp set. Here is my beginnings.

The card base is cut 5 1/2" x 10 1/2" and scored at 1 3/4", 3 1/2", 7" and 8 3/4". The card base is quarter turned a slit is cut at 1 1/2" in on both sides starting at the first score line at the top and ending at the last score line at the bottom.


Using the Cuttlebug and an embossing folder, I was able to create a metal look to the pattern paper. I used a cute dump truck and a little sedan and to add more texture I stamped a few tire tread images.

The zip strip (CTMH paper has a strip along the top which contains information about the paper i.e. paper packet, coordinating colors, etc. on one side and a cute useable pattern on the other) was used for the words and the cute little stop sign holds them like little flags a blowing in the wind.

Now I tend to work on a card and come back to it adding as I go -- a fresh look helps.

My second look prompted me to add black and white buttons. The dump truck and car are black on white and the addition of the buttons, seems to tie the colors into the background paper.

I still wasn't finished and my final look netted me the sentiment Happy Birthday. I added three Happy sentiments in the back of the dump truck and the Birthday sentiment is a flag on the inside of the card.
